HYATT PARIS MADELEINE

Space indoors.
The city outside.

I stayed in the Presidential Suite at Hyatt Paris Madeleine. Hyatt lists 105 square metres indoors plus a separate 40-square-metre private terrace. That's a big step up from the hotel's compact standard rooms.

The living and dining area is apart from the bedroom. I would choose this exact suite for that separation and the terrace, not assume every suite here feels as roomy. Its windows let in a lot of street noise at night, so I would not choose it for quiet.

HÔTEL DU PALAIS BIARRITZ

The Imperial Suite
in Biarritz.

I stayed in the Imperial Suite at Hôtel du Palais. Its scale fits the old palace: more space to sit, a more private feeling and the Atlantic outside. This is the suite I mean when I talk about Biarritz. I paid €5,000+ per night for it.

The living room is a place to spend an afternoon, with space to sit and dine before heading back out along the coast. Ask for the current floor plan when booking.

PARK HYATT VIENNA

Two suites, not
one huge room.

I stayed in a junior suite that connected through an internal door to a standard suite at Park Hyatt Vienna. Together they gave me 1,700 square feet in two spaces that were more useful to me than one oversized room.
