MY STAY
The quiet suite
The Emory had the feel of a private address rather than a hotel calling attention to itself on the street. My suite offered room to settle in and a view toward Hyde Park, with pastries and an included minibar that made arriving comfortable. The living area gave me a place separate from the bed to spend time; the bathroom was smaller than the suite photographs might suggest. The discreet door mattered less once I had begun using the places inside.

Surrenne spa & dining
Surrenne deserved an afternoon: a class, pool, steam room and sauna rather than a rushed treatment. I took an Argentine-inspired cocktail up to the rooftop bar, then reserved ABC Kitchens for dinner. A suite did not automatically guarantee a last-minute table at either.

Thoughtful help
One small kindness stood out. After I mentioned feeling unwell, the café sent ginger, carrot and apple juice without a request. The house car was useful for a short ride within two miles, though a special pickup or payment arrangement still deserved confirming before arrival.
Would I return?
A roomy suite and real time at Surrenne would bring me back before another rooftop photograph would. The suite, personal help and wellness spaces worked best together; each deserved time in the day rather than a hurried visit.
