MY STAY
The skyline room
The view from Mandarin Oriental Tokyo was something I wanted to spend time with, not just notice in a lift. From the right window, Tokyo Skytree was there when I woke up; another exposure would have changed that morning completely. Nihonbashi made it easy to head out and return to a calmer room.

Concierge & city
The concierge helped with plans without making each question feel complicated. I used the gym, but never felt the hotel had to carry the entire Tokyo trip. Its strongest daily pleasure was the quiet room high above the busier streets, with the skyline still in view.

Breakfast & Pizza Bar
Breakfast on the 38th floor had Japanese specialties and a wide city view. The small Pizza Bar on 38th needed reserving ahead, then The Mandarin Bar worked for a drink as the lights came on below. I still ate around the city on other nights rather than treat the hotel as my only dining destination.

Would I return?
A window toward Tokyo Skytree and staff who make city plans easy would bring me back to Nihonbashi. A famous restaurant cannot seat someone without a booking, and a high floor does not guarantee the Skytree view. Getting both room and tables right made this a particularly comfortable Tokyo base.
