The private-pool room
Kalesma made it easy to spend a surprising amount of time in my own room. A private pool, useful storage, a comfortable bed and a terrace facing the sea gave me somewhere to sit without joining a crowded Mykonos beach club. The exact outlook mattered more than the name of the suite.
Breakfast & pools
The mornings were calm: breakfast toward the water, a swim on the terrace and another at the main pool if I felt like leaving the room. Internet by the pool could be weaker, but what mattered more was having it work inside. The gym was available whenever an early workout sounded better than another beach day.
Transfers & outings
Town was still within reach by the hotel's scheduled transfers. I checked the return rides before going in, rather than assuming a car could collect me whenever I finished. A sunset dinner back at Kalesma felt different from eating on a busy harbor street, and that quieter return was part of the pleasure.
Would I return?
A sea-facing terrace and a few unscheduled Mykonos days would be reason enough to stay at Kalesma again. This is not a room with the island's busiest beach directly outside. That distance worked for me precisely because there was somewhere peaceful to come back to.
