Gardens & pool
Hotel Bel-Air made Los Angeles seem far away as soon as I was among the gardens. The pool, spa and warm bar were enough to build a day around without leaving the grounds. Room location changed that routine: a quiet, distant bedroom offered more privacy but a longer walk to the places I used most.
Room & location
The fireplace made an evening in the room particularly appealing. Photos of a bedroom could not show the whole route back through the gardens or how much daylight reached it, so I paid attention to the room's position as well as its finish.
Coffee & house car
An early self-serve coffee was a lovely little convenience before breakfast service began. The house car made trips to Beverly Hills and Brentwood easier than driving and parking, though its range was worth confirming before a dinner reservation. Not every detail ran as neatly as the setting suggested; a cleaning rag left behind needed a call rather than another day on the floor.
Would I return?
The gardens deserve another slow visit, with a room near the parts of Bel-Air I actually want to use. The gardens did not guarantee flawless service, but they made this feel like a stay rather than a base for crossing the city.
