Gardens & beach room
Rosewood Miramar Beach was as much about Montecito's gardens as the ocean. I liked wandering through them to a room with private outdoor space, then heading toward the sand. The coastal rail line crosses the property; depending on the room, it can be part of the scene or an interruption to a quiet afternoon.
Room position
I chose the building and outlook rather than taking the first available category. A garden bungalow changed the walk to the water, and the room was not necessarily ready just after the stated check-in time. I made sure any bill correction was handled while still at the desk instead of trying to sort it out from home.
Caruso's & breakfast
Dinner at Caruso's, followed by another drink at Manor Bar, made an easy evening without leaving the hotel. My breakfast was less smooth: being told each day to allow another ten minutes for a table added up over a short visit. Used glasses left around the pool needed attention too.
Would I return?
The gardens, beach and a planned Caruso's dinner are the reasons to return, preferably from a room away from the coastal train line. At its best the property felt warm, but the small service details needed to keep up with the setting.
