The ocean-view suite
At Hyatt Regency Waikiki I stayed in the One Bedroom Deluxe Suite Ocean View, a 1,435-square-foot setup with enough room to spread out properly. The ocean-facing balcony and the beach across the road made going in and out all day easy. Shops and food were close too, so the location worked when I wanted to spend time outside the hotel.
Nightlife noise
The major downside was not a faint bit of traffic. Nightclubs nearby blasted music late into the night, well into the early morning, and the suite was not quiet enough to shut it out. I loved having the extra space and view, but would not describe it as a place for a reliably peaceful sleep. That matters far more to me than a slow lift or a tight parking space.
Service & beach
The staff were exceptionally nice and made an otherwise busy Waikiki hotel feel welcoming. Coming back from the beach to a well-kept suite helped, and the pool bar was there for an easy lunch. Breakfast in the club lounge ended promptly rather than lingering for late arrivals, so it was worth going down before the spread disappeared.
Would I return?
I would stay for the large suite, ocean view and genuinely kind team, with the nightlife noise understood beforehand. The location puts Waikiki at my door, including its late-night music. Anyone choosing this particular suite mainly for quiet would be disappointed, however impressive the space is.
