The courtyard suite
Hôtel de Crillon felt most like a private Paris residence when I came back to a cool courtyard-facing suite. On a hot day, quiet and shade were worth more than a prestigious street view. The beautifully restored public rooms helped, but it was the bedroom that made staying in enjoyable.
Breakfast & housekeeping
I liked how breakfast in the courtyard gave the morning its own pace. The concierge could help with dinner, and housekeeping seemed to learn my routine quickly enough to work around it. I also wanted a look at the pool before deciding whether to leave an afternoon free for the spa.
Reservations & details
An important reservation needed the same care as the room itself. The exact suite, rate and arrangements for an occasion were worth confirming with the arrival team well ahead of time; a last-minute change at this price should not become a problem handed to the guest. A meal or room detail going wrong was easier to address early than carry through a whole stay.
Would I return?
The beautifully furnished suite and cool courtyard need several days to justify this address, not a brief visit to a famous lobby. The Crillon worked best when the practical help was as carefully considered as the beautiful restoration.
