Club Dauphin
Club Dauphin was the part of Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat I most wanted to revisit. A glass funicular took me down the cliff to its 33-meter seawater pool, with the sea just beyond. I could stay there for hours, then go back up through the gardens for dinner.
Room & service
The room needed as much care in choosing as the pool day. A sea-view price should buy more than arriving cars outside the window; service carts near a door could change a quiet morning too. The exact building and outlook made the difference between returning to the room happily and escaping it as soon as possible.
Breakfast & dinner
Breakfast under the trees was a pleasant start. At La Véranda, fish with truffle mousseline and steamed vegetables gave dinner a detail to remember. An off-site beach club and water taxi suggested by the concierge proved less satisfying than another day at Club Dauphin, so I would think twice before trading away time at the hotel.
Would I return?
Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat deserves several days, not a hurried night in an ordinary room. The gardens, funicular and pool made the Riviera setting feel like part of daily life; a well-chosen bedroom let that calm last into the evening.
