Junior Suite & design
Bulgari Hotel Roma felt modern without trying to erase the Rome outside. My Junior Suite had room to spread out, and the architecture made even a quiet afternoon in the building interesting. A rooftop panorama was not the view from every bedroom, though, so room position mattered.
Service & spa
The service worked best when it was practical: a clear plan for dinner, help at arrival and room to enjoy the spa without racing back onto the street. I set aside an afternoon for a 90-minute massage and stayed to use the facilities afterward. Squeezing it between two sightseeing stops would have missed the point.
Rooftop dining
One evening on the rooftop, Pier Daniele Seu's pizza counter gave the view a proper meal to go with it. When the air turned cool, the staff offered a blanket or an inside table. That was a nice answer to a real need, but the pizza counter was a pop-up, not something to count on for every future visit. I would check the current terrace program before building an evening around it.
Would I return?
Rome has too much good food to eat every dinner at the hotel. Still, I liked how the room, spa and rooftop made this feel distinct from a more traditional palace stay. A good bedroom view and a confirmed table mattered much more than the name on the door.
