Suite & city quiet
Stepping inside Aman New York made Fifth Avenue seem oddly far away. I found the suite spacious by Midtown standards, dark, quiet and comfortable enough to spend a whole afternoon in. The low lighting is part of its appeal, though someone wanting a bright room and a lively street view might find it too hushed.
Pool & plans
The 65-foot indoor pool turned one of my ordinary city afternoons into hotel time. Finding it was less effortless: the public spaces have few helpful signs, so a quick tour on arrival is worth asking for. Once settled, I liked having a choice between Italian food at Arva and Japanese food at Nama instead of another trip through Midtown for dinner.
Jazz Club & service
The Jazz Club offered a livelier evening downstairs, but admission and cocktails were separate costs. I would check both before reserving a table. The team could be discreet and genuinely kind in person; a restaurant or car booking, however, deserved an explicit confirmation rather than the assumption that someone had passed it on.
Would I return?
Aman New York is an expensive way to find quiet, and its value depends on spending time in the suite and pool, not merely sleeping there. With the right room and a few plans confirmed in advance, the calm felt real rather than staged.
